New Programs Introduced¶

Camp had outgrown the capacity of the Mead Lodge Dining Hall in the early 90's. A newer Dining Hall, built on the uphill side of the parade field opposite of the Trading Post, was opened in 2008 that replaced the Dining Hall in Mead Lodge. This increased the camp's dining capacity from ? to 400.

Year Summary¶

The ridge behind Mead Lodge was being clear cut during the summer for the first time in the history of camp.

About 200-300 trees were knocked down at approximately 4am Tuesday morning on the last week of summer camp (July 22). The weather service deemed it a "microburst". Damage to camp included two latrines, some vehicles in the parking lot and a few tents, but no serious injuries. The storm caused a power outage in camp for nearly 36 hours.
